Job Overview

Midland Chandlers is a leading supplier of parts and accessories into the marine leisure market, specifically focused on Inland Waterways craft. We are currently looking to recruit a Sales Advisor to join our Head Office Sales Team.

In this role, you will interact directly with customers via emails, phone calls, and in-person contact to answer questions, provide guidance, increase sales, and elevate their experience with our company. You’ll be expected to keep up-to-date with all the latest products and promotions to maximize sales opportunities.

Essential Job Duties

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Generates ideas about future trade and retail activities to ensure a cutting edge strategy; maintains up to date knowledge of the market place, inland waterways industry, competitors and trends
  • Assist the Sales Manager with obtaining and maintaining long term key customers by comprehending their requirements, whilst playing an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
  • Interact with customers to offer guidance, technical advice, and assist them in making purchasing decisions
  • Be a strong team player, helping to organise special promotions and events
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge to provide customers with the best, most accurate information possible
  • Assists Sales Manager with any other tasks that work towards the future development of Midland Chandlers
  • Liaise with marketing and assist with the development and growth of the ecommerce platforms
  • Carries out tasks inside and outside the office environment that work towards achieving sales targets and goals, including customer visits
  • Reporting to Sales Manager as required on KPIs and initiatives
Essential/Desired Skills for this position
  • Knowledge of Microsoft windows & office applications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills

Education & Experience
  • Understanding of marine and leisure industry
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be organised and efficient
  • Must have an eye for detail

Therefore, the post holder will be expected to perform additional and or different duties in keeping with their skills, experience and abilities and in order to meet the commercial needs of the company.
