Job Description

Management of purchasing process & suppliers, inventory value and efficiency, warehouse and branch operations and strategic planning & logistics efficiency. Direct reports including Senior Purchasing Team & Group Warehouse & Logistics Manager, working closely with Product Management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • The role of the Supply Chain Director will involve devising and implementing policies and processes to optimise inventory value and efficiency, stock turn, end-of-life and new product programs, purchasing process & supplier management.
  • Managing 9 stock-holding sites within the Arleigh Group, of which three are primary hubs, the Supply Chain Director will also utilise opportunities with sister company Euro Car Parts, and its fleet, logistics and warehousing wherever advantageous to the Arleigh and UK Group.
  • Reviewing existing inventory levels and implementing a series of KPIs and metrics to drive inventory efficiency, reduce & resist cost increases, measure & maximise fill rate & customer availability, and reduce overall inventory value as % of sales whilst maintaining availability. Reporting actions and progress regularly to Board of Directors
  • Leading on H&S, implementing and driving initiatives to minimise risk and create a peer-led culture of safety-first
  • Managing warehouse costs and property portfolio with support from LKQ Group Director of Property (Euro Car Parts)
  • E2E inventory management; ensuring the smooth and effective flow of orders from suppliers through the distribution hubs (x3) and into branches (x6)
  • Proven success in managing warehousing and transport operations including 3PL, and relevant continuous improvement qualifications and / or demonstrated experience (eg. Six Sigma)
  • Working with key suppliers on cost and delivery improvement programmes, reduced lead times, back-order reduction and scheduling
  • Working with key suppliers to improve sustainability in packaging and logistics
  • Taking a key role in the strategic integration of Arleigh Group into the wider ECP UK Group, working closely with counterpart(s) within ECP (dotted line reporting into Market Logistics Director ECP)
  • Developing accurate reporting tools and KPIs which support the objectives of the organisation
  • Reducing excess and eradicating obsolete stock
  • Working closely with product management, warehouse and commercial teams to deliver the new product objectives that drive revenue growth
  • Contribute to European strategy development and the deployment of best practice standards and processes as defined by the European excellence team
  • Reporting to Arleigh Group Board of Directors KPIs, performance and initiatives
